DLand - Quotable Gunther

There were several good quotes from today - more than I could reasonably note. So I'll just quote one.Me: “Sir Gunther, um, you're wearing a black sweatshirt. It's hot as hell out here!” Gunther: (sheepishly) “Yeah, I know. I forgot a t-shirt. And this is cooler than what I had on before.” Me: “You're making me hot just looking at you.” Gunther: “Why, thank you!” Me: stammering as others laugh Gunther: “You better keep your distance, ma'am. I've fathered four children. I'm a dangerously potent man to be around.” Me: “You win, Gunther. You pulled my punk card.”

DLand - And They Called It Puppy Love

Zee Zee is my crazy Turkish hair dresser. She's very expensive, but I get great haircuts and she calls me dahling just like Zsa Zsa Gabor. That's worth an extra 15% right there.Zee Zee: “Oh, dahling, I keep catching my comb on your ears. You have too many earrings!” Me: “No such thing, my dear Zee. No such thing.” After chillin' with Zee last night in the salon chair, I headed over to Jeremy's house to pick up Casey. Loki the punk cat was put away in the house and Casey the Wonder Mutt and I headed home to acquaint him with his new surroundings for the week. Well, while there is no love lost between Isis the beautiful black goddess cat and Loki the pain in the ass cat, Sarah and Casey were very glad to see each other. They danced around the living room and ran around the back yard and chewed on each other's ears and laughed and rolled in the grass. It was a typical reunion for two dear friends. Apparently, we are going to have to work out some visitation rights of every other weekend or something.

DLand - My Name is Genie ... GenieAlisa

I watched Hank Williams Jr. sing a duet with Kid Rock last night. I'm not sure that I or my opinion of modern music will ever be the same because of it.They both had on big black hats (one cowboy and one bowler type thing), making them look (dare I say it?) sort of sexy as they pontificated about the differences in country and rock. By the end of the song they were swaying together with arms locked around each others' shoulders. It was enough to make you a little misty eyed. Yes, I watched the American Country Music Awards last night. Wanna make something of it? I was at my parents house getting a free dinner and ... well ... when in Rome, watch the tv shows the Romans watch (or something like that). Further news in the music scene is I bought another huge pile of cd's last night. Most of them were used but a few were new. I just had to have the first Pink disc to experience her “roots” as it were. And spending time around my brother Doug has reminded me of the merits Bob Marley has to offer. So I was kind of proud of myself for buying a cd from nearly every section of Planet Music (R&B, Reggae, Pop/Rock, Country, Various). Go me. Unfortunately, I left them all at the house so I'm at the office going through funky groove withdrawl.

Singin' don't worry about a thing. 'Cause every little thing gonna be alright.
